Rebecca is a Managing Partner and co-founder of SLF Lawyers. She is an accomplished and respected commercial, corporate & personal insolvency lawyer possessing over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Rebecca also has extensive estate planning, family law and banking & finance knowledge. Rebecca has built a reputation in the industry stemming from her passionate commitment to achieving client results. Her ability to settle matters, commercially, sees Rebecca in high demand and she is best known for her negotiating skills and zealous advocacy. A strong supporter of access to justice, Rebecca works with a number of clients on a pro bono basis and supports law reform projects aimed at protecting vulnerable individuals and business owners. Rebecca’s approach to her practice is one of efficiency and practicality. She ensures that realistic outcomes are achieved and client expectations are managed and whilst a large part of her practice involves litigation, she assists her clients to avoid this where possible to ensure the most commercial results are achieved in the circumstances. Outside of work, Rebecca has a passion for interior design, entertaining and cooking for family and friends, allowing her talents to shine both inside and out of the courtroom.

Well-known and respected in his field, Mark is one of the founders of SLF Lawyers. He has grown SLF Lawyers with Rebecca Fahey from a team of 3 to reach over 70 employees in four offices, across Australia. When Mark represents clients, he ensures their needs are at the forefront of every matter he takes on, empowering clients through difficult matters to drive successful results. Mark genuinely cares about the issues that matter to his clients. His dedication to his this practice has been prominent from the very beginning of his career, with wellbeing, a key aspect of every move throughout a matter. This is also apparent in his pro bono work for a Tier 1 charity being Sisters of North. Mark was formerly a teaching school principal and has an affinity for rural and remote areas, having spent a great deal of his life in Western Queensland. He is an enthusiast for sport, holding a position as a committee member for the Queensland Breakers Water Polo. Mark also from time to time acts as honorary chair of the Queensland Water Polo judiciary.

John’s client base is vast and diverse, built over 30 years in the industry. John oversees a team of property, conveyancing and commercial litigation specialists and offers decades of knowledge and wisdom to his practice. John has served on the board for organisations including St Kilda Football Club Ltd, Basketball Victoria, Ciaron Maher Racing as well as not-for-profit organisations and charities. He has also served as a committee member for Management Committees in the Property and Construction Industries. With these strong links to the AFL, Basketball, Swimming, Horse Racing, Netball and hospitality industries, John is well connected across most States in Australia. He is best known for his colloquial tone, approachability and modest attire making John a well-respected ‘crowd favourite’ both amongst his clients, peers and colleagues. John has demonstrable success in providing Legal and Strategic representation for clients in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. He advises them with respect to their high-rise developments, tax structuring and trusts, corporate reconstructions, joint ventures and banking and finance matters, to name a few, across the property, finance, hospitality, sport and charity spaces.
